talking

After yesterday’s interview on this blog which was a pleasure to post, I realized that I completely forgot to mention my own interview on the Scented Salamander of yesterday…not that I would be too modest to mention…. I just forgot as I was so excited about my conversation with Sands. Thus, here are some thoughts on perfumery on Scented Salamander. Enjoy.

And mentioning interviews…. here is another one. This one is quite different, I guess, but judge for yourselves. It is a skype discussion with Marlen that I enjoyed a lot and I still remember this Sunday afternoon vividly, chatting with him, who knows so much about perfumes and has such a pleasant voice. Again: Here is the interview on PerfumeCritic. Enjoy.

Originally, I planned to talk today about one line of thought based on yesterday’s talk. I had to change the schedule, though and will think about it tomorrow. Right now, I am sending two flyers to print: One for the L’air du désert Marocain, one for the Le Maroc pour elle. Both will allow me to produces samples, by glueing the sample vial on and both are built on the layout of my Lonestar Memories design, of course continueing to use the visual brand of Le maroc and l’air, being the rose on one hand and the moon over the desert on the other hand. Both will also allow me to sooner or later transfer the packaging for these two scents to the Lonestar Memories type of packaging… again, respecting the individual appearance. But that’s a medium future project.

And finally… I am arranging the last details for the next bottle orders and the necessary preparations for my vacation, which is kind of fun, too.

Thus, I leave you with all this interview reading and some comments on POL on the Orris scent by Prince Barry. Enjoy.

Andy, I received your sample of the Orris scent today - and WOW! To begin with, I thought you’d sent me Lonestar Memories by mistake, because what I mainly got was leather, but then quite suddenly the opening gave way to a hauntingly beautiful iris/violet/rose note, which has drifted around me all day. This is quite simply the most gorgeous orris scent I have ever encountered. Can it really be true that it’s a special edition, never to go on general release? Oh, I am desolate! Nina (Vanille from POL)

  2. Prince Barry Says:

All these interviews Andy, it’s a wonder that you have time to breathe, let alone create all these wonderful perfumes.

Poor Nina is all desolate because she can’t buy a bottle of Orris perfume and will probably shout at me a lot over on POL…ha ha!!!!

Good luck with your packing ready for the holidays Andy, take plenty of suncream, we don’t want your knees getting sunburnt…LOL!

  3. Andy Says:

    Dear Nina
What shall I say… I am so sorry for you! Thank you for your compliments, though. I hope you are not angry now that you realized this is not for sales….
It makes just the more precious, doesn’t it?
    Dear Barry
I am getting really good in writing on my computer keyboard… Whenever I fail as perfumer… I can become a typewriter, data typist or something of that kind. ….
I hope Nina is not yelling at you too much. you are not to blame … Nina… Have you read this: Barry is very, entirely innocent. The perfumer is to blame :-)

Heh heh heh. Andy, you are slowly taking over the internet. Wall to wall Tauer Perfume coverage all over the place :P All were such fun reads, and they did great jobs I thought. And so did you! Your recommendation of GAME gave me a big chuckle.

  5. Andy Says:

hehehe…. the goal for 2007: You type in “a” in google and … Tauerperfumes appears. hehehe have you tried Game? It would be an interesting post to read your thoughts on it!

  6. Katie Says:

Well, honestly… no! I used to actively steer clear of the Davidoff displays, to the point where nowadays I don’t even see them even when they’re right in front of me. I’m afraid that house has dropped utterly off my radar. Besides, good lord, too many boring or bland things out there as it is. Which I’ve been trying my best to bite my tongue about, just because I feel like otherwise I’ll become a non-stop snark machine! Which would also be very boring!

  7. Andy Says:

hehehe… snark machine is great. I have a tactic there, too. The bigger the ads, and the more present, the less I look out for it….I am sure I am not the only one.

  8. Katie Says:

Nope. I think when the advertising is ridiculously HEAVY, it starts to look like a Shakespearean “they doth protest too much!” advertising campaign. It must have some sort of unintended reverse-psychology effect on some of us :)
