Perfumer’s Programm

Mr Luckyscent and me exchanged a few mails regarding the LA trip. So, here is the date: Saturday, March 29, 2008. I will be there early afternoon until later in the evening.

And here is what you can do, if you happen to live in the area: Mark the date March 29  in your calender. It is fixed.

And here is what I will do until then. Think about what to bring with me and what to tell you. I simply can’t talk about wet sheep every time…

And before leaving this blog’s backend: I have spent my night with the latest rose trial, and did not sleep well. But this time waking up was all night long a pleasure……

My sample of Incense rosé arrived yesterday and I’m wearing it today. Let me add to the positive feedback on this perfume!

After having worn nothing but Guerlain Vetiver for years, I started exploring other fragrances a few months ago. It’s been an interesting process. Some of what I found has been expected (I like woody and smoky notes); some unexpected (I don’t much like most leather fragrances on me). Two of the nicest surprises have been rose scents–which I like much more on me than I expected–and Andy Tauer’s perfumes. All of which is to say that I was particularly looking forward to Incense rosé.

Although I was expecting to like it, Incense rosé still turned out to be something of a surprise. I guess I was anticipating something darker and wetter (e.g. C&S No. 88 or PdR’s Twill Rose, both of which I’ve sampled and liked). Instead, the rose in Incense rosé positively sparkles, while the incense notes keeps the scent very dry (plenty of what I believe aficionados refer to as Tauerade here!). At any rate, one of these days I’ll need to bite the bullet and invest in a bottle of one of these rose fragrances…and Incense rosé will certainly be in the running (which I suppose means I’ll need to wait till March).

At any rate, thanks so much for the sample and for making another wonderful perfume!

Hi Andy! One hour ago i went to the postoffice and got my sample of Incense rosé! At the same place i immediately (impatience! :) opened the parcel and sprayed sample on my hand, so some people there were looking at me and probably thinking: LOL! What a crazy dude! :)))

So my first impression was: Woah! This one is out of usual Tauer’s style! I’m sure it’s most luxurious fragrance you ever produced! I mean financially rich-smelling fragrance. Very good!

First what i got was fried dog-rose that soon started changing to something woody, i would even say it’s a rose carven of some very expensive wood! After that i clearly can smell dry rose mixed with soft incense and a bit of…mint! Wow! Very very nice one, so warm, complex and luxurious! You by no means can be proud because of this your creation, it’s something! Thumbs way up!!

So that’s what i like about Tauer Perfumes except absolute quality and originality, - they are surprising all the time! Every new scent is a complete surprise! Thanx and Applouses!!!

So, it’s all for now, but only first impression. I’m sure i will get much more impressions later (no wonder, such a complex fragrance!) and as well will tell you all of them.

P.S. I would like to create a little site in russian language about Tauer Perfumes, just a few pages whic describe impressions about your scents, if you don’t mind.

    Cheers!

    Dear Ben
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. This is the Incense rosé day today it seems!I must admit that I appreciate Guerlain’s take on Vetiver very much, thus…I think you venture of exploring new fragrances after years of Guerlain is quite a challenge in itself! I just hope that biting the bullet won’t come too hard when the time has come…Thank you again!
    Dear Chayaruchama
I hope that Miss V. and Mr. T. will all come and that we will have some good time together. And then… I like visiting the lucky guys again! And the sun…. oh yes!
    Dear Jeff
Thank you very much for your long and detailed and lovely comment! I appreciate very much. I am quite amazed how fast the parcel arrived at your place, thinking in the fact that it took three weeks lately for a little envelop from Zurich to Italy, not too far off the Swiss border.
I am glad that I could surprise you a little bit… and finally: I don’t mind at all anything you write in Russian. I do not really understand it , though.

Maybe just one question: What did you mean by fried dog -rose ? I don’t know the term fried dog and worry … ;-)
    Fragrant greetings to you

Excellent! I’ve written “Andy at Luckyscent” on the 29 March square in the calendar. I look forward to seeing you so much!

  6. Jeff Says:

Well, yes, parcel has arrived quite fast, but actually it’s not a big wonder, because our post works good, for what, of course, big thanx to them.

By fried dogrose (also known as hip or canker-berry) i meant actually “dried dogrose”, sorry, made a little mistake :( You know when you gathered dogrose berries, put them into glass can and after a while they will smell like top notes of Incense Rose, very nice smell! :)

But most of all i love when scent is developing to wonderful mix of rose, expensive wood and a touch of mint! Excellent!

  7. Lavanya Says:

Yay!..hopefully I’ll get to see you this time too..:)

  8. Andy Says:

Dear Maria, me too! me too! for many, many reasons
    Dear Lavanya, fingers crossed

And finally, Jeff, I think I understand now ;-) I was deeply worried about your fried dog experience ,-)
