NZZ am Sonntag
Now that was an exciting weekend. Finally, the NZZ am Sonntag article appeared and bing-bang-puff! orders flew in. It felt a little bit like in paradise, where you lay in the grass, watch the little white fluffy clouds in a blue sky passing by, and where from time to time M&M’s or roasted pigeons fall from above right in your mouth.Except that I was not laying in the grass, but went jogging my 15 miles, and no M&M’s falling from sky, but labelling bottles and fiddling with Excel.
It was a nice article, referring to Luca Turin’s article in the NZZ Folio (same publisher, but different format,, click here if you wish to read Luca’s article on the l’air du désert marocain online) and using a key word in the title. Amateur. This positions me nicely off stream.
I thank all reader of the NZZ am Sonntag (125′000 copies printed, around 450′000 readers in Switzerland) for their interest. Merci!
Here you see a screenshot of the article. And off we go… making more samples (later in the day) and getting through an office day (again). tomorrow, I hope to show a few lines of text going with my Italy leaflet.

Congratulations Andy–great article and I do like that word Simplexity used in conjunction with your perfumes. iMHO, Simply the best ingredients combined with Complex olfactory sensations when enjoying the fragrances! Have a great day. It’s raining here.

Hi!!
Definitely, Andy, in this context, “amateur” is really a wonderful compliment!!Congratulations! I’m trying to read the article now…
(that M&M’s falling from the sky..sure sounds like a great “Schlaraffenland”, but in my case, with the M&M’s,there would be a rain of Rêveries, L’Airs…!
Hugs from Spain!

Dear Michelyn, I think I will get a body guard now. You know: One of those muscle packed young men. Or I do it like Gadhafi. With his women… you wanna be my body guard?
Dear Silvia
I did not publish it larger because I do not want to compete the newspaper print edition. But I will publish it later as pdf. There is no page where I could link to….
Dear Jen, I invite you to read also Luca Turin’s latest column of this month. you find it on the nzz folio page again: About simple accords… link to Luca Turins Column in NZZ folio of July
Dear Vladimir, I thank you!
Dear AromaX
Amateur can (in German) have quite some nuances, indeed…

Hi Andy, thanks for the link to Luca Turins article. I wish I had the nose of those perfumers who could copy fragrances in the “old”days. Enjoy your day of celestial M&Ms and roasted pigeons–that is a hilarious image!

Congratulations! Some well-deserved publicity (I hope, since I can’t read the article :) ) I’d enjoy a pdf if it becomes available, if only to run through an online translator and get a mangled version!
Now onto a paradise with M&Ms and roast pigeons.. an engineering problem to be solved..

you know all this good press could go to your head - but between your warm (vs cold) heart and the W-factor`s presense, you`ll be fine! Maybe just a little light-headed, floating up there w/ the cotton-candy clouds…Humor-wise, ever considered trying out for Saturday Night Live on NBC here in the States? Head hauncho Lorne Michaels might like your style…:-) :-)

Good morning to you, Christopher and Thank you ! Nice to see you here.
Dear Dawn, yep and … gummy bears. The dance hip hop in paradise and wait for me coming one day.
Dear Jen
My pleasure. oh ye…the good old days of perfumery. although: Figuring out a formula of a well done perfume, complex, and with lots of naturals is a hard thing to do!
Dear EilieenS
It sure was a positive article. I will make a pdf available later in a few days…Engineering sounds cool…
Good morning, dear Hotlanta Linda,
Love, love pink cotton candy! so yummie. Saturday Night live sounds cool. But I’ll need a haircut …

Wow, I go away for a day and all hell breaks loose!
Good work on the fliers - I like journeys “with” flowers, too, as opposed to “and”.
And double good work on the article - anything that will get those orders flowing!
