coming to an end…

…with the leaflet for Italy that needs to be translated by dear Guido: I have corrected, optimized and integrated input from a variety of sides. Thank you! My special thanks goes to you, J. and D.  And a big, fragrant hug.

Thus, this is about as good as it gets these days.  Besides the leaflet, I have spent the morning with samples. And later today, I will finish them and then I’ll make 60 goodies ready. Goodies to support a workshop, somewhere up there in Pennsylvania. The last days were really samples dominated. And I can’t wait to fiddle with scents and paper strips again!

And here is the text:  going with the leaflet, inner part, right side. It got a touch longer and is at the limit of what I want to see there.

“Welcome to the fragrant world of Andy Tauer.

We invite you on an olfactory journey
to discover fragrances that are beyond the ordinary.

Andy Tauer’ s perfumes are inspired by unique places
and fragrant materials. They entice us to dream of the desert,
of verdant gardens, of dark roses, of cowboys.

He composes all perfumes himself and, all scents are bottled by hand
and carefully packed in Switzerland, for connoisseurs of craftmanship.
Andy Tauer’s modern creations breath the air of traditional perfumery
and are cleverly built on a high percentage of natural ingredients.

Try Andy Tauer’s perfumes and find out for yourself
why perfume lovers around the word have been seduced.”

Anyone for a STANDING OVATION??!!!!! :-) This is the best! Take some bows, and then you may go back to dreaming about Manderines and spices while you relax… On the subject of minis - no favs, but one needs background/history.It came from Paris in the 60`s, cut glass body and stopper, the gold label reads L`Elu; the brand is Marquay, Paris. This stands maybe half an inch tall. The only digital camera in the house isn`t mine, but I show others how to use it, so Maybe on a photo to e-mail…PS - Marg`s bedroom - I was allowed to stand at the doorway and look - Heavy, carved, dark-wooded ANTIQUES, w/ creme or pale pink upholstery/drapes/curtains(lace) on parquet flooring. This is from a facinated five-year old`s eyes!! :-)

Hi Andy, I agree with Linda: it reads wonderfully!!!! :) And Linda, your 1960s mini sounds so pretty. The cut glass body and stopper are what I was thinking about–the bottles were made so well. Marg’s bedroom sounds magical—like a place you could write a story about. Andy I wonder would you ever consider offering minis in bottles? Have a great day!

    Dear Jen
uiuiui …another product size. For the time: rather not ;-)
    Have a lovely evening

    Dear Hotlanta Linda
I remember my aunt’s bedroom, with huge, gigantic, super soft and fluffy pillows. and everything was so clean and lovely antique furniture, much different than what we had, all dark and heavy. a 7 year old’s perspective

Andy - what is the website that is an encyclopedia for perfumes??( my lack of sleep due to creepy bugs is showing… so away slips the memory!) Also, we know you`ve temporarily ceased work on your Hyacynth scent, but what happened to the bottle at sea?

  6. Tama Says:

The leaflet is going to be great! You are certainly busy these days, but I for one will be glad when you can concentrate on mandarine again…. :-)

  7. jen Says:

HI Andy, funnily enough I like Linda was also wondering what happened to that bottle’s journey? Linda are you thinking about http://www.fragrancedirectory.info/usadirectory/ ?

  8. andy Says:

    Dear Linda and Jen
No idea about the whereabouts of the hyacinth and a mechanic fragrance. Lost again? use up? hidden in a closet? I -unfortunately- do not know….so sad. I wish it appears again…just one last time!

    Dear Andy,
It looks like I am standing aside a bit this time not commenting that much. But well - let me take 15 mins to read your text and get impression. It gives a better picture now. Still love the illustrations on the background. The text is interesting and inspiring. But I still have problems with this part:
“Andy Tauer’ s perfumes are inspired by unique places
and fragrant materials. They entice us to dream of the desert,
of verdant gardens, of dark roses, of cowboys.”

I miss a moment of inspiration. You were inspired by something. Was it just a cowboy? Or just a dark rose? You name the source of inspiration, but you don’t share the moment, the emotions, the impressions. I’d say something like They entice us to feel the hot breath of desert on your face or to dream about a quiet verdant garden. They are inspired by the touch of velvety petal of a single dark rose or by the smell of leather saddle of cowboy taking rest near the fire surrounded by snowy mountain tops. Something like that. I don’t feel I can explain clearly what I mean, but I hope you can feel it :o) And - it’s still just a (very subjective) suggestion.
    Have a nice weekend, Andy!

    Dear AromaX
this time you are a touch too late. The leaflet is translated and on its way to the printing company.
I am-on the other hand- not entirely agreeing with you: I do not thing that the issue is to describe in more detail what inspires , but rather leave details open. like “hot breath on desert on your face” : This can be repulsive to some. I’d rather leave it open to the reader to pick her/his aspect of the desert that is worth dreaming of….
Have a lovely Sunday and thank you for your input, highly appreciated and inviting us all to rethink!

  11. AromaX Says:

Surely Andy - that was another side of the coin… Just to touch it and leave open for someone to pick her or his own image? Or to name exactly describe the moment. I was doubting if it was just my personal preference or something to think of in general. Anyway as you say - it’s over for now. Congratulations - a big part is done. I hope you’ll enjoy the stacks of newly printed leaflets very soon and a bit later a lot of people will be making the journey :o)

  12. Andy Says:

Good morning to you , AromaX
I hope the box with flyers comes very soon . I can’t wait to see the rose picture printed. I am so curious about how it will work out.
AND: I feel like I need to make a post soon on communication and perfume…. Until then: Enjoy your day!
