I am a quitter
I am a quitter and announced so on twitter and it feels better.
Now, it is public information and I feel good. Yesterday, the news was announced in the office. I will leave as soon as I have finished the CRM project of ours. Id est : 3 months. Yep: Eternities.
The last year (s) I was on a 7/7 scheme, and some days on a 18/24.
To celebrate this particular moment in time, I listen to “Get down, radio edition”, by 12th floor, Inside Scandinavia. Again. And again. And look into a morning that is all suny with the light announcing autumn and its colors.

Good for you Andy, in so many ways, most likely more then can be seen at the moment. Since you obviously love making fine things for people to enjoy( and it does not hurt that you have a real talent for this :o) ) I am sure all will go very well. Got to do what you love, or as a friend of mine says “If you are not laughing, you are not doing it right!
enjoy my friend

Congratulations Andy! It is always the best to chose your passion as your work (when you can) and since that is what you have done, I am certain it will be very rewarding for you on many different levels. Have fun dancing around the office today. :)

Brave Man !
You must feel liberated, exhilarated, and not a little frightened……!
Good for you, my dear.
A man like you will NEVER be impoverished-
Neither in talent, friends, ideas, or spirit.
Congratulations !!!

I’m smiling for you. :)

Congratulations Andy!
So few people have the courage to follow their dreams. You are brave and bold and blessed with great talent. Many good wishes to you!

“Throw your hands in the air// like you don`t care!!“ Congrats!!!! Check out Ultra Nate`s “Free“ on YouTube and dance all the more!! :-) Maybe, when you`ve only 1 job, you won`t need so much coffee in the AM because you`ll sleep better in the PM!
August 18th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Jen - all those blooms are available here, I ran this by one “head“ of the house, and got `no, it`s too late in the year` (expected response) I responded w/ `then they are on SALE; good time to try!` Still negative backlash. So one prays for changeing that minus into a plus!! It`s weird that the people w/out allergies to pollen in general don`t see their open door to have fun! I love plants/perfume all the more - they are such a blessing to be with… :-) :-) Our high temps for the day won`t be below the 80`s until October, and then their could be Indian Summer! Hope springs eternal!

Thank you, Hotlanta Linda. Maybe I will need even more coffee in my 100% job, who knows? ;-)
Dear GalileosDaughter
Thank you. No courage, though… I just felt it is right.
Dear Justin

Dear Chayaruchama

Dear Gaz, well… It took me a while to get there, to the decision point I mean. but more because felt obliged to finish my job there :-(

Congratulations Andy !! I wish it was me….maybe when I retire I can become your “mad scientist” assistant !! I don’t know how skilled or helpful I would be making perfume, but I can make terrific coffee, excellent conversation, and damn good coq au vin.
all my best wishes for you and I can’t wait to sniff out what comes next !!

Good for you, Andy!! My husband and I were talking this weekend about how people should try to pursue their dreams - that it’s truly sad to see someone late in life say, “I wish I had …”
And on a selfish note, I’m really glad you’ll be able to concentrate on perfume! :-)
August 19th, 2009 at 1:04 am
This is a piece of good news for all of us! You’ll be doing what you love full time and we’ll see more great perfumes coming out! Following your bliss is always a right choice, you’ll be wishing you’d done it earlier:) Here’s to your new full time perfumer carrier! Salut, dear Andy!

Good morning Veronica, thank you! greetings back to you. I hope I will not look back too much. Looking forward is much more thrilling.
Dear Aparatchik, I can’t wait to have more time, playing with paper strips and scents!
Dear Julie Ellen, I think the two of us would be an island of sanity in a sea of madness in this business ;-)
Thank you Marcin!
And hugs back to you, Tara.

Best wishes for this momentous change! It must be a real load off your mind to have made the decision. I just returned to work from my vacation to see this news — I admit to some envy, but I’ll get over it quickly. ;) You’ll have more time for your scents and business and, hopefully, you’ll have a more stress-free life. Bonne chance!
August 20th, 2009 at 2:01 am
Congratulations on making the leap!!!
August 20th, 2009 at 7:58 am
Dear EileenS
I have my doubts about the stress-free life (somehow this concept is far from reachable to me) , but I imagine lots of time to compose and mix and sniff. And then a little bit of stress to fill bottles. But this is fine!

Back from vacation and I am a little late in this, but had to comment anyway.
It was a matter of time to follow your heart, since your passion was so strong and it has brought such successful fruits so far. So sincere congratulations and all my best wishes! I am sure you will do more than great :-)

Dear Elena
I thank you for your comment. Looking back the last few years: I was soooo lucky and blessed. I look very much forward, walking the same road, maybe switch to higher gears, but I won’t change the road when it comes to perfumery work.
