frequent flyer miles

It is still wonderful and warm, here in the midst of Europe.

Actually, it is not the weather to make you dream of Cali deserts. Thus, it must be something else, maybe pancakes and highways? Or friends? I got my frequent flyer miles thing from my friendly air carrier and learned that I need to spend miles. Immediately. Book now, otherwise 40000 miles are gone. With the other 20000 miles I’ve got: LA , I am coming.

Spring 2010.

Guess what… it must be the steaks.

Ah, the call of travel! :)

Belated congratulations on your new freedom from your day job! I was busy with my own day job (plus summer stuff), and so surprised and pleased when I finally made it back this morning and saw you’d made the plunge. Good for you!

    Dear Karen
thank you. Unfortunately: between now (the jump) and later (when I am finally out) is three months. … but I guess that is ok

Hi Andy–LA how awesome! What do you plan to do when you are there? You can swing by Luckyscent.. :) And those 3 months will fly by, I guarantee it! Linda, I am so with you re: plants–I adore them. I don’t have the greenest of thumbs but I keep trying. Right now I am having luck with some violet plants. Love them. You should have a go at the ginger plants, it sounds like they would be great in Atlanta. Oh and Andy, it sounds like you work wonders with orchids. I adore them but can never get them to rebloom after the first go-around. And I have never smelled a really fragrant orchid. I’ll have to check out the orchids at the botanical gardens here to see which ones are not just a pretty face but smell nice too. :) (Vanilla Orchid…..) Have a great day. Maybe now is the time to start an official count down until you are free to devote yourself to your perfumes–: 92 days???…

When living in one of the smoggy, LA area valleys from `69 > `76, the best things were the music culture and outdoor malls filled w/ GREEN planters to make them homey - this was when drought ruled, and the mall was the place guarenteed to have blooming greenery!! :-) Two of my favourite djs are still spinning the hits - Charlie Tuna on K-EARTH (oldies), and Jim Ladd on KLOS (classic rock) - more power to them!! Tune your radio to them after you`ve left LuckyScent! Jen, I send my green thumb for violets your way! (someone else here kept breaking bloom and branch from them, so I`ve had to settle for silk violets for now…) On the Vanilla Orchid path, Caswell-Massey,“ America`s Oldest Perfumer“, just issued their own Vanilla Orchid scent…. this will be IT until Andy dreams up his own, fantastical rendition, yes??? We are WAITING……. :-) :-)

  5. Jen Says:

Linda thanks for the good violet vibs and yes we are (patiently) waiting for Andy’s rendition! And Andy, be sure to check out today’s Perfume Smellin’ Things Blog: A Sybarite’s Dilemma: Everything is my favorite by Donna. It looks like there are MANY people who cannot imagine living without your L’Air du Desert Marocain! Have a great day.

Fabulous news - do let us know when you’ll be at Luckyscent, and if you swing down to San Diego, give me a ring! 619-225-0036

    Hugs,
    Tara

  9. Tama Says:

Likewise if you swing up to SF give ME a ring!
Keep us posted - sometimes I am down that way…
Hopefully your “short-timer” period will go by quickly!

    Dear Jen
Lots of plans: Luckyscents. Buying sneakers. Eating steaks. Hiking in the desert. Selling perfumes ;-)
Ah.. and orchids: You need to neglect them. Too much love and they die. I water them once a week. and nothing else.
    Dear Hotlanta Linda
somehow this lighted spot on earth makes me want to come back, again and again.

    Dear AromaX
It will be half vacation half business and I thank fortuna, and Swiss for the miles. :-)

    Dear Tara
    Yep…will do!

    Dear Tama
    With greatest pleasure!
