E_NOLOGIN_ACCESS

ok. Almost there. As a complete backup of my site was not possible: We decided to go for a lean shop -only update and upgraded all shop and user relevant things: From Joomla 1.0 something to 1.5 something and from the shopping software virtuemart 1.0 something to 1.1.3.

An easy plan and mine and my freelancer’s entry ticket to a weekend job. The issue: New clients cannot register and login. Now, that’s not really what you want, right?
So far so bad. The solution is still unclear. I think we will need to work on some tables, as it might a be a synchronization issue between Joomla and virtuemart tables. So you see: We deep in ti. Very deep.

While worrying about tables, I managed to build some stock for September, answer a few mails and did a few work-arounds on a woody juice that is reluctant, too. And off we go, digging deeper.

Hi Andy, I’m sorry but all that computer stuff is like a foreign language to me…although I will admit the word Joomla is cute. :) However I am excited that you are working on a woody juice…more details please. :) Hope you have a great Monday.

UGH!!! Computer stuff. We had a programmer once that would take our whole site down in the middle of the day without warning doing an “experiment” - one time all our products went away.

Here’s to a speedy resolution to your woes!!
    xox

Good heavens ! I hope your brain waves and heart beats aren’t too much affected by all those obstacles. Sometimes it seems we are born to experience all this to remain alert and alive, to face whatever comes along our way. And with a lucky star, the problems can be solved easily, especially when the star is orange.

    Dear Jen
I think computer stuff is fun. Usually. Here it start be become an annoyance. About the woody juice: I am working on it since a while. It is a funny accord, with lots of irones, cedarwood, ambrein, and vanilla, ambergris and some spices and flowers in da head (ha: My post for tomorrow) It is a lovely chord: AFTER 30 minutes. But before: It is too harsh and brutal. Somehow I could not tame it yet.

    Dear Tama
Dreaming of the good old html self coding days ;-)

    Dear Stephan
I send you a big hug. The orange star will guide me :-)
    Now I am relieved.

    Hi, Andy.

This does sound like unpleasant computer work, of the sort that makes you wish that some previous programmer had left behind notes about what the heck he was doing… Good luck with it. I hope you can get it to work. And with taming the woody juice as well!

I will repeat that when your computer seems impossible, the answer is to link a larger computer w/ a HUGE ego to yours so that your computer can learn the data AND be people-friendly. What larger computer, you ask? ZIGGY from the tv series Quantum Leap - I`ve never known of a bigger ego than hers!! :-0 :-) Perfumista note - my room is my perfume haven, and due to lacquer-finishing the slate floor at the stairs` bottom on Wed., the folks will have to go through MY ROOM temporarily! Bull-in-china shop, anyone?? The back doorway to my room is closed and treated as a wall, so a wooden chair and all the displays on it and in that corner need to be torn up and moved by YT. UGH!!! (Mind that the folks HATE our hobby/passion!) Prayers for saftey of my collection and my constitution would be GREATLY appreciated - thank you!!! :-)

Hi Andy, Congrats on the great review of Un Rose Chypree on Now Smell This! http://www.nstperfume.com/2009/08/24/tauer-perfumes-une-rose-chypree-fragrance-review/
And Linda good luck with the disruptions. I hope your perfumes stay tucked away safely.
Looking forward to tomorrows post with an update on the untamed woody juice. :)

Hallo Andy! First of all, congrats on the NST review of URC!!!

I am slowly catching up on all of your blog musings, as this has been a busy summer and I’ve been MIA for several weeks on reading your lovely blog.

And did I my eyes deceive me, or did you really quit your day job?! I am so happy for you! I wish you all the best :)

I am beyond thrilled that cooler weather is approaching and I can start spraying my URC with abandon. And it’s about time soon to add another Tauer bottle to my dressing table. The hard part is trying to decide which one…

I must get back to work, or I could be here all day! Just wanted to pop in and say hi :)

    *waves to Hotlanta Linda also!*

    Hi Fernando
    Indeed: Very unpleasant! but unavoidable…
    Good evening Hotlanta Linda
I guess it is less my computer but rather the programs running on a highly secured server somewhere in a Swiss tunnel… but when I get a hand on a full-blown ego computer I will pack’em
    Hi Jen
Oh…thank you for the link. I was too much occupied with my little computer adventure. I ‘d miss it for sure! what a lovely review , indeed. I am so flattered.

Good evening to you, Devon and yes, yes: I quit. But it will take another 2.5 months until I can finally leave… in Switzerland it takes forever…
I thank you for being so generous when it comes to tauer perfumes spraying ;-)

DEVON!! HI!! I`ve been wondering where you ( & Julie Ellen) have been! Hopefully vacationing SOME or MOST of July and August, Yes?? :-) ( Silvia`s in her faiytale garden and doesn`t want to leave, I`m sure! :-) ) Tama, the same thing as far as everything going away happened early this year here via Comcast`s service (HA!) people - and I sat here for 3 hours a la reboot, control panel, etc, and SUCEEDED, w/out Geek Squad and hundreds of $$$$ wasted. (Then proceeded to dance all around the upstairs to release the body tension! :-) ) Jen - in the “ I`ll show you“ catagory, I pointed out to the folks that our next door neighbor has a 7-foot- plus tall GINGER plant`s that`s THRIVING! We will see if this helps our cause!

  11. hotlanta linda Says:

Andy, are you trying to restore glory to the fragrant thought of `woody chypre` a la Vol de Nuit, D`Jedi, or your own Tauer Orris?? The thought of being your own boss will probably free your inspiration! :-)

  12. Devon Hernandez Says:

@Hotlanta Linda - HA! I WISH I had been on vacay! Just very busy with life, work has been busy, had another cold this summer (ugh 3rd one since May), sick relatives, other relatives visiting in PA in droves - so all around very busy :) It has been fun though taking my out of town relatives around to new spots in Lancaster! I\’m getting ready for things to slow down. And cold weather. And heavier perfumes!!!

  13. KimP Says:

Andy, I think Angela’s review and the heaps of love in the comments on NST will help make up for the computer trauma. Hope everything is up and running smoothly soon!

  14. Jen Says:

Linda– that is very cool about the neighboring ginger plant–they do grow like weeds and get very tall so I hope you get yours. They are totally low maintenance and I promise they are bird magnets! :) Funny you mention Vol de Nuit–I’m in it today and would love to see a Tauer version of a woody chypre (even if it is a little untamed!) Devon, I envy you with the upcoming cooler weather. Send some my way please. ;)

  15. Devon Hernandez Says:

@Jen - haha I will try! I *hate* summer, so I cannot wait for it to get colder!

  16. AromaX Says:

Andy, shall we use the situation? Making a rumor that Andy doesn’t take new clients anymore (and people will be able to see it’s true when they try to register) - so all Tauer’s perfumes a very limited editions now and there is just enough for the registered clients. But if you write him a male, he might be kind enough to sell you something from his limited stock. Well - the idea is raw and needs polishing, but I’d expect and explosive rise of sales :o)

Anyway - those “little stupid technical problems” are so annoying. I hope you’ll find the solution very soon.
