tomorrow

Today, I am all busy writing text and doing calculations. A little bit on the tough side. You know…trying to come up with a plan for the transition phase from the old design Tauer to the new design Tauer. And texting some text for some web pages that should be live since a while.

Tomorrow comes a truck and visits us, coming right away from Austria. With all exciting stuff: Mémorables sized 15 ml bottles, 50 ml bottles of the design that we all know, pumps, more pumps (5000 pieces) for the new design bottle, sample vials, and more samples vials (I think this time I ordered 10000), and:

A  flanging machine for the new bottles!

As the pumps there will be flanging pumps, I will not screw pumps anymore with the new design bottles. Now: “machine” sounds somewhat automatic. Actually, it is not. I figured that a little bit of moving forth and back will do good. Thus, in late March we will flange, and flange, and flange.
But now, we are all excited and worried: we ‘ll getting about 250 kg of material.

I guess this will be our gym program for the week.

So you will have more of those clear plastic “butterflies“ from the pumps` wrappings flitting around your person and home once more - good luck! - due to alot of static electricity from the cold weather! But what would we do w/out plastics like that - hey, bubblewrap turns 50 this week! :-) Your song is, therefore, “I`m Forever Blowing Bubbles“, from 1918, a la Tin Pan Alley w/ numerous recordings! Doris Day`s is the most familiar recording (1951) to most peoples ears! May the new equipment run as smooth as silk gowns and top hats :-)

Hey, in the interest of a good nite`s sleep in spite of the excitement, you do know what types of food and drink to avoid in the evenings, right?? :-)

Hi Andy, sorry to sound dumb but what is flanging? Hope you all had/have a good night’s sleep! And bubble wrap–what fun to pop! :)

    Good morning, Vladimir,
a few more hours and I can tell how heavy things came in.

    Good morning to you, Jen,
oh, that’s nothing, and how should you know what flanging means. Actually, most perfumes come with the pump mounted on the top of the glass bottle with a little metal collar (=flange) wrapped around a glass rim. (just check on any bottle you’ve got)
The process of fixing the flexible metal ring of the pump around the glass and thus leak tight sealing the bottle, this process you can call flanging. And you need a tool for that. There are ultra simple tools, semi automatic and fully automatic machines.
I will make some pictures later, when I know how to use it!

I hope that on your pictures we’ll see more than only the glass rim of the bottles and the machine. I’m dying to know what shape the bottles are, whether the glass is thick and heavy, transparent or opaque, colour-tinged and so on and on. And how does the changed design for the names and labels look like? Give us just one little hint at a time to keep us glued to these developments in progress.
