more guru meetings

July 17th, 2010

We enjoy a remarkable summer so far. Up in the thirties day in, day out, with rain or thunderstorms in the evening for a nice and decent cooling down over night. It is a touch too hot to work during the day, thus I end up doing the heavy stuff in the morning. Heavy stuff means: Carrying around boxes with flacons or boxes. The flacons come in boxes of 72 bottles, the tins in boxes of 24, and as we are about to count all stock (kind of a mid year adventure) and as we have to re-arrange some stock, this translates in to some lifting boxes. In the afternoon, we do the easy stuff. Such as flacon pouring. Yesterday, we finished the first 300 or so UNE ROSE VERMEILLE, today we plan another juice… hmmm: I guess it will be RÊVERIE AU JARDIN.

When doing so , I will continue thinking a bit on a few constructions (perfume formulas) I am working on -mostly in my head, due to missing time to actually pour and mix. BUT, I decided and I hope that I can stick to it: I want to continue working on formulas more often, now that the web stuff is sort of over.

Sort of, there is another meeting with the IT gurus next week, discussing some details that do not work properly, yet. Or that need a bit of a cosmetic change. Actually, there are three more meetings planned for next week. Branding gurus, shop guru and the wood guru who makes the black wooden tops.

I wish you a lovely weekend!

A moment with lily of the valley

July 16th, 2010

Yesterday was air du désert bottle pouring and crimping and labeling day. And today we engage in UNE ROSE VERMEILLE bottle pouring and crimping and labeling day. Oups. No. Wrong. We are still waiting for the labels, but do the bottle thing.
Over the week end we plan to do more bottle pouring fun, in preparation for the PITTI FRAGRANCE exhibition September, and for expected sales early autumn.

Thus, normal production routine towards the end of this week.

Let me introduce and seduce you in between: Please visit FRAGRANTICA and make sure you participate on their draw for a Carillon pour un ange, co-organized by Luckyscent. The draw is over this Friday!  There, you will find a little text by myself: This is my contribution to the e-book project “A MOMENT WITH LILY OF THE VALLEY”,  a charity project that will end up in an e-book, jointly organized by Tauer and luckyscent.com . (what kind of charity: Will be decided by poll on this blog later)

Here is one reason why I wanted to do this e-book: I realized that with every launch I get more interest in what I do, interest by the press and other media. And one day, I figured that this attention might be used to create awareness to xyz. xyz was something in the field of charity, and fun, and community oriented. The hope that I have with this e-book project: That by spring 2011, when launching the Carillon pour un ange in its final packaging and getting the press for it, we can use part of the press to push sales of the e-book. And that we continue collection stories and end up with a large e-book on lov(e).

Thus, I look forward to receiving many contributions. If you consider sharing your MOMENT WITH LILY OF THE VALLEY: please send it to us by e-mail or snail mail and do not publish it here (or there) ONLY: For copyright issues we need your official agreement for publication by e-mail or snail mail. Details you find in here: MOMENT WITH LILY OF THE VALLEY (pdf file, 200 kb).

July 14th, 2010

Here they are:

Congratulations to you and a big thank you to random.org (who again as always came up with strange numbers, but that’s the nature of random it seems. …)

Pro specie rare tomato

rare species saved from extinction

July 13th, 2010

Here comes the obligatory reminder: Please, if you wish to enter the draw, leave a comment over there on the blog post of July 12. I will pick the happy winner(s) tomorrow, Wednesday, late in the day (US Time), meaning, early Thursday morning Swiss time.

And for those who already commented and wished me well and said hello and more: THANK YOU!

It feels really good and is a motivation to continue! I am sort of flushing and get red like a tomato (see picture to get an idea how red) when reading these lovely comments of yours.

And here we continue:  As you have seen… my IT gurus sure worked a lot and they continue to do so. There are a few its and bits not working yet, like the blog feed. But the feed should be up and running soon. In a sense, it was a smooth transition. Compared to other IT project it felt like cycling down hill.  Thus, it turned out all well. And what follows now: cleaning up the glasses and bottles after the party and move on. Moving on translates into: Me hiking tomorrow. Us (W.-factor and me) filling 30 ml flacons with Rose vermeille and Rose chyprée the day after tomorrow.

And finally: coming up with some crystal clear thoughts on the near future. The website is there, “HOMAGES” is set in place of Memorables (that never really worked and that was hard to pronounce, especially for me), but we need to continue working on a nice and decent transition from old to new. OLD = 15 ml flacon of rose chyprée, NEW=AUTUMN 2010= 30 ml flacon of rose chyprée and rose vermeille. And somewhere in between is the CARILLON POUR UN ANGE, that remains in PRELAUNCH mode until spring 2011.

But I think the Carillon is worth an extra post after hiking and clearing the mind and nose.
